These are the things that make up Ryan.
Always preparing in case some sort of far fetched disaster were to happen, and wouldn't you know it?
It turns out he was right all along. Everyone was surprised but him.

Ryan has long ago memorized each and every note in his zombie survival guide he got in Middle School.
And because of his ridiculous amount of knowledge on zombies he's managed to keep himself alive,
completely on his own all this time.

Ryan is also one of Nate's closer friends. They've known each other since Elementary school,
But recently they had been drifting further and further apart because of a lack of things held in common anymore.

That and Ryan's kind of a douche.

But Nate and the others decided to set aside his mild homophobia and know-it-all nature and have Ryan join them.
If not only because they were impressed that he's survived this long.

Despite his many personality faults, in the end, Ryan's an okay guy.
And he's glad that he's not alone in this anymore.
